FAQ

Common questions from parents

Do I need a referral letter?

No. You can book directly by phone, WhatsApp or the contact form. If you have a referral letter, school reports or past assessments, please bring them along.

What should I tell my child before the visit?

Keep it simple and honest. You might say they are going to talk with a doctor who helps children with feelings, worries and behaviour, and that the visit is mostly talking. Older children and teenagers often do better when they are included in the decision to come.

Will my child have to take medication?

Not necessarily. Many children do well with parenting strategies, therapy and support at school. Where medication may help, Dr. Wong will explain the options, and you decide together.

Is what my teenager says kept confidential?

Teenagers are encouraged to speak openly. Dr. Wong will explain at the start how information is shared with parents. Where someone's safety is at serious risk, parents will be told.
